On 1 March 2019 the law establishing a Register of Beneficial Owners for Luxembourg-registered entities came into force. The original deadline for entities to register their company beneficial ownership was 31 August 2019. However, with more than 129,000 companies having failed to hit the deadline, it has now been moved to 30 November 2019.
Entities failing to register a declaration, or that do not report a change in beneficial ownership within 30 days, may incur fines between EUR 1,250.00 to EUR 1.25 million.
